The NHS price structure falls into three treatment bands. Some treatments are not available under the NHS but your dentist will give you a fully itemised treatment plan, listing all the options available to you at the time of your check-up. Fees are due once your dental care starts.
There are 4 Bands:
The patient requires an examination, diagnosis (egg: x-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, and a simple cleaning if needed and pays £18.80
The patient requires everything listed in Band 1, above, plus a simple filling. This patient's course of treatment falls into band 2 and they pay £51.30 If the patient required more than 1 filling on a course of treatment they would still only pay £51.30.
A patient requires everything listed in Band 1,2 and a crown or denture or other treatment involving laboratory work. This patient's course of treatment falls into Band 3 and they pay £222.50.
All charges apply to an overall course of treatment, and not the individual items within the course of treatment. You will only pay one charge for each course of treatment, even if you need to visit your dentist more than once to finish it.
Some people, such as under 18s and pregnant women, are exempt from charges - just ask any member of our team for more information before you have any treatment with us.
Please note that a different pricing structure operates under Health Service dentistry in Northern Ireland.
